Bournemouth reach full agreement with Adrien Truffert – What should happen now

Bournemouth have now reached a total agreement with Stade Rennais full-back Adrien Truffert on a five-year deal.

That’s according to journalist Benjamin Quarez, who reports Truffert is now in agreement with Bournemouth, whose focus must turn to Stade Rennais.

According to his information, Bournemouth are yet to find common ground with the French side over the 23-year-old.

The Cherries have initially proposed a €12m plus €3m deal for the left-back but the Ligue 1 club are demanding ‘much more’ than that at this point. What they would actually like isn’t made clear.

What is clear is that Truffert is now Bournemouth’s number one target to replace Milos Kerkez, who appears to be set for a move to Liverpool. They’ve targeted him as the long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.

That deal has not been finalised as yet but is expected to be sooner rather than later, which is perhaps why Bournemouth have moved quickly to get terms agreed with Truffert. That is now in place regarding a five-year deal for him.

Now they need to work on their offer to Stade Rennais, who it seems have no intention of selling on the cheap, perhaps knowing how much Bournemouth are set to make from selling Kerkez.
