Liverpool and Manchester City are set to face competition from Chelsea in their pursuit of Nottingham Forest mainstay Morgan Gibbs-White.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of Morgan Gibbs-White and they are set to rival Liverpool and Manchester City in the race to the signature of the Nottingham Forest attacking midfield.
Morgan Gibbs-White has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Tricky Trees from Wolves in the summer of 2022. Not only has he established himself as one of the mainstays in their team, but the English international is also regarded as one of the best-attacking midfielders in the country.
The 25-year-old was on fire last season as he contributed towards 17 goals in his 38 outings across competitions. While he prefers playing as a number ten, he is equally effective out wide on the flanks. His performances have put him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in the country and there could be a bidding war for him this summer.
Premier League giants want Morgan Gibbs-White
Manchester City are one of the clubs that have been constantly linked with the English internationals. City want a new attacking midfielder with Kevin De Bruyne leaving. While Florian Wirtz was their priority target, they have failed to secure his services.
As a result, they are looking at Morgan Gibbs-White, who is considered an ideal alternative. City have been working on a potential transfer for some time now. Meanwhile, Liverpool are also interested in his services. While they are front-runners to sign Wirtz, the Reds also have their eyes on the Nottingham Forest mainstay.
Chelsea to rival Manchester City and Liverpool
Arne Slot’s team are keen on Morgan Gibbs-White’s signature but they might not go ahead with it if they do manage to land Wirtz this summer. Chelsea have emerged as another potential destination for the youngster and they are willing to rival both City and Liverpool to his signature.
Forest are aware of the increasing interest in him and they are bracing for offers from the English giants. They value him at around £60-70 million. While the asking price is certainly on the higher side, the Blues can certainly meet their demands.
They want to push for major titles next season and signing Gibbs-White could certainly help their cause. He will add creativity in the centre of the park and his arrival will give Enzo Maresca greater tactical flexibility. While he won’t come cheap, this investment could certainly help them both in the short as well as the long-run.
