Galatasaray are reportedly trying to sign Victor Osimhen permanently this summer transfer window, as a proposed deal with Al-Hilal is said to be falling through.

Osimhen spent last season on loan at the Turkish club, scoring 37 goals in 41 matches across all competitions as they won the league and cup double. However, the striker is still under contract at Napoli for another season.

A move to the Saudi Pro League has seemed the most likely since the transfer window opened on 1 June. Al-Hilal reputedly want a deal for Osimhen done in time to play at the Club World Cup, but that would require the transfer to happen on or before 10 June, when the current exceptional registration window will close.

Fabrizio Romano, however, reports that the Nigeria international has still not accepted a proposal from the Riyadh-based club. GiveMeSport have previously claimed that they are offering Osimhen a yearly salary of around €30million (£25million) plus bonuses but gave the player a Friday (6 June) deadline to decide.

Romano said on Thursday evening that the deal with Al-Hilal was about to collapse without any agreement with the striker. The journalist also added that Galatasaray had entered the race and is now stating they have sent Osimhen a contract proposal.

Leroy Sane, who will become a free agent at the end of this month when his Bayern Munich contract expires if no extension materialises before then, is also said to have been sent one. The former Manchester City player's new agent, Pini Zahavi, has reputedly offered Manchester United his client, as Fussballl Transfers claimed last month.

Osimhen is another name often linked with United. The striker reportedly has a €75miillion (£63million) release clause, which is around what they have agreed to pay Wolverhampton Wanderers for Matheus Cunha and what Brentford are said to want for Bryan Mbeumo.

With Galatasaray having reportedly already sent their proposal to the player, however, United may need to move soon should they decide to formalise their interest in the forward.
