The future of Jack Grealish at Manchester City is up in the air.
The winger experienced a tough 2024/25 campaign as the Englishman has fallen down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola, with the 29-year-old only starting one out of Man City’s last 21 Premier League games, which is a clear indication of how the Spaniard feels about the player.
Since his £100m move to the Etihad Stadium in 2021, Grealish has not lived up to that price tag, as the 2022/23 campaign was the only season in which the forward performed well.
Grealish is set to be left out of the Man City squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, which is a big hint that his future lies outside of Manchester, and Michael Owen has now shared the whispers he has been hearing about the winger for months.

Pep Guardiola has been willing to let Jack Grealish go for months
Grealish has been encouraged to leave Man City by Ally McCoist and many other pundits over recent weeks as everyone recognises that there is no way back for the Englishman at Man City as long as Guardiola is at the club.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Owen has shared that he has heard for months that the legendary coach has been willing to let Grealish leave the Manchester club, and that is evident in how the winger has been used.

When asked if Grealish’s move to City has been a success, the pundit responded by saying: “Yes, overall, yes. I mean, he’s won everything, hasn’t he?
“I mean, he can look back on his career if it were to end tomorrow, and be very proud of what he’s done, but it’s going to end slightly, you know, on a sad note, isn’t it? Because you would have thought this is the end now.”
“I’d heard rumours and whispers for quite a few months, actually, that Pep was probably willing to let him go, and that’s been the way it’s played out over the, you know, towards the end of the season and even so now.
“The hard thing is, you know, seeing where he could go, because he’s obviously a big earner. Where could he go? Who would want him, who would need that type of player, who can afford him? But I do think he’s probably played his last game.”
In an ideal world, Grealish would love to stay at Man City; however, that is not the case, and the former Aston Villa star now needs to decide where he wants to continue his career.

What clubs are interested in Jack Grealish
Gary Neville has encouraged Grealish to move abroad this summer, and that is a strong possibility as AC Milan are one of the favourites to sign the Man City star ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
It is uncertain if the Serie A club can afford a permanent deal or if the 29-year-old is even open to the move, as the Englishman might want to remain in his home country.

Jack Grealish’s career at Man City
When it comes to Premier League clubs, Tottenham’s interest in Grealish seems the strongest; however, his former club, Aston Villa, and Newcastle have also been linked to the 29-year-old.
It remains to be seen whose interest is genuine over the coming weeks, but if Grealish has plans to play in the 2026 World Cup, the Man City star needs to depart the Etihad Stadium ahead of the new season.
