Plans are in motion to expedite Jack Grealish's departure from Manchester City, with the club prepared to take a significant loss to sell him this summer. The club is reportedly open to a £40million offer for the midfielder, who has been left out of the Club World Cup squad.

The 29 year old still has two years left on his contract but has been informed that he doesn't have a future at the Etihad Stadium. Grealish moved to City in 2021 for a record-breaking £100m fee, making him the club's most expensive signing ever.

The former Aston Villa star played a crucial role in securing the club's treble in 2023, but his influence has dwindled in recent seasons. Grealish was notably absent from City's squad on the final day of the season.

Now, the club is even willing to absorb a £60m loss to offload him swiftly this summer. It's suggested that Grealish's agents are actively seeking a new club for their client.

Villa and Newcastle United are just two of the clubs being linked with a move for Grealish, with his former club being linked heavily by bookmakers.

After finishing third in the Premier League, City are planning further changes to their squad following a busy January transfer window. They're now eyeing AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders and Lyon forward Rayan Cherki, hoping to secure both players in time for their trip to the United States, reports the Mirror.

And after Grealish only managed seven Premier League starts in the 2024/25 season, Guardiola has conceded that his future may be elsewhere. "Of course, Jack has to play," Guardiola recently stated.

Guardiola stated: "He's an unbelievable player that has to play football every three days. It didn't happen this season and last season either.

"He needs to do it - with us or another place. It's a question for Jack, his agent, and the club.

"If he stays it will be fine and he fought like he fought from day one to make a contribution."

Guardiola also added: "It's nothing personal with Jack. I'm the person who fought for him to come here and the person who fought for him to stay here this season. I'm the one who said I want Jack Grealish."

Following Kevin De Bruyne's departure, City might also see Kyle Walker and John Stones leave, marking a significant shift for the team. However, the changes aren't limited to the playing squad.

Coaches Carlos Vicens, Juanma Lillo, and Inigo Dominguez have all left the club. Lillo and Dominguez's contracts have expired, while Vicens has taken over as head coach of Braga.
