Everton set new Jarrad Branthwaite price tag as fresh verdict given on a move to Chelsea

The summer is set to revolve around one man at Everton once again, Jarrad Branthwaite.

Everton fans are probably getting bored of hearing about the central defender leaving the club once the transfer window opens.

It seems like Branthwaite’s interest hasn’t been higher with many top Premier League clubs trying to sign the 22-year-old.

Manchester United previously wanted Branthwaite, but now the reigns have been handed to Chelsea and Tottenham, who want the defender.

The Blues seem to be the frontrunners, but David Moyes and The Friedkins aren’t budging and have once again increased his price tag.

Everton set new Jarrad Branthwaite price tag amid Chelsea interest

The defender has come on leaps and bounds since signing for the Toffees in 2020.

£1 million from Carlisle is looking like the business of the decade, with the centre-back in such high demand.

To have a player like Branthwaite on the books is special, with Moyes even saying Branthwaite trumps John Stones.

Both defenders could be playing alongside each other next campaign with Stones on a ‘pathway’ to Everton, that is, unless a club matches Branthwaite’s newest price tag.

It was previously claimed that Branthwaite was worth £70m, but journalist Alan Myers spoke to the All Together Now podcast with a new value to his name and weighs in on whether Branthwaite to Chelsea will happen.

“Personally, I don’t think it will. I see Branthwaite as an Everton player next season,” Myers said.

“It would have to be a really big deal to let him go.

“Looking around the £80m mark. He would benefit from having another season at Everton.”

The latest on Chelsea signing Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton

With it looking clearer now that Branthwaite will remain under Moyes’ regime next season, it might just take a bit of weight off the Everton hierarchy.

There have been reasons to cash in on Branthwaite with Everton hoping to build their £100m budget, but the overall consensus seems like a stay is the best option.

The latest update from Ben Jacobs suggests that Chelsea’s interest might just be dead and buried, reiterating Myers’ thoughts.

Jorrel Hato remains a player of interest to Chelsea. Appeal is in his ability to play left-back and centre-back.

The only chances this move happens now is if Todd Boehly really gets the chequebook out and puts down £80m, but for now, Branthwaite is, and will be, an Everton player next season.
