According to a report by Sky Sports, Manchester United will pursue a move for a striker with Viktor Gyokeres up for consideration after they seal the deal for Bryan Mbuemo. The Red Devils are coming off a terrible campaign that saw them finish 15th in the Premier League, their lowest top-flight finish in five decades.
The English side struggled to find the back of the net, scoring just 44 goals in their 38 league games to limp to a -10 goal difference. Amorim will be keen to bring in Gyokeres, with whom he worked at Sporting CP before he took up the appointment at Old Trafford. Amorim and the Swedish striker enjoyed a brilliant working relationship, with the striker bagging 66 goals and 23 assists in 68 games under him.
Manchester United are looking to revamp their attack this summer, with Antony, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund all linked with moves away. The Red Devils fans will be keen to see Viktor Gyokeres join the team after his impressive campaign in Portugal, which saw him bag 54 goals and 13 assists in 52 games.
Liverpool star claims Scott McTominay 'wanted to prove Manchester United wrong' at Napoli.
Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson claimed that Scott McTominay wanted to prove Manchester United wrong after his move to Napoli. The Scottish midfielder was brilliant for the Neapolitan side in his debut season, helping them to the Serie A title.
In a recent discussion with The Guardian, the Liverpool defender claimed his countryman went to Italy with a point to prove, saying via FotMob:
"I think he went over there with a point to prove, I think he wanted to prove Manchester United wrong and prove people in the Premier League wrong. He has gone over there and done that pretty successfully. That's credit to him, credit to his attitude and his determination to be the best version of himself. Now he is a king over there."
"At Man United, he probably lacked getting that run of games consistently; he was in and out and things like that. He probably didn't get the respect he deserves. Then he goes over there, puts in a magnificent season and fair play to him to end it with the league title. Even before he was at Napoli, his standards for Scotland were unbelievable. He's getting better and better, he has taken it to a whole new level."
Scott McTominay came through the Red Devils' youth ranks and made 255 appearances, scoring 29 goals and providing eight assists. He helped the club to one FA Cup and one League Cup. He moved to Napoli a year ago for a reported fee of €30.5 million. He scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 39 appearances to be named the Serie A Player of the Year.

Esuene Stadium with his father, with whom, he connects with, discussing the beautiful game.
Patrick’s favorite team is Manchester United for their unparallelled legacy and success in the game. He is a big admirer of Michael Carrick and his ‘smooth’ style of play back in the days. His favorite manager is Jose Mourinho, who according to him, brought a ‘swagger’ to football with his unique managerial style. Robin van Persie’s title-winning volley against Aston Villa for the 2013 PL triumph is etched in his memory forever.
Patrick always uses trusted outlets that produce accurate, balanced and fair information, and which present multiple point of views. He believes in reporting in a holistic manner for the readers’ benefit. If he could change a football rule, he would increase the number of substitutions allowed due to the high number of games played these days, to reduce injuries and so that youngsters get to show their talent as well.
