Former NFL players Will Compton and Taylor Lewan, co-hosts of the popular “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast, did not leave Barstool Sports on the best of terms. But in a recent interview with Front Office Sports, Compton settled the beef between him and Barstool founder Dave Portnoy and says that he’s looking forward to moving on.

The “Bussin’ With The Boys” show rose to prominence in recent years under the Barstool umbrella. But when Compton and Lewan’s contract came up, they opted to explore other options. This led to tension with Portnoy, which peaked when Portnoy and Barstool personality Dan Katz collaborated to eliminate the pair from the $250,000 “Surviving Barstool” reality show because they were leaving the site.

I was going to shoutout @stoolpresidente and share this video he posted for how masterful of a game he’s played in Surviving because I want to stop being petty

But it looks like someone messed with the edit?

That led to a lengthy online back-and-forth between Compton and Portnoy. But it appears that’s now behind them both after Compton and Lewan inked a “lucrative” new deal to partner with FanDuel.

“We have more independence going solo. We get to think about it more as growing the brand, growing the business versus just pouring into a singular podcast,” Compton told Front Office Sports. “…It’s like, you know, being at the draft, being at all these different events that we will now have access to where we want to go through a different amount of hurdles. And I’m not saying those hurdles were there with Barstool because I have nothing but good things to say about Barstool. But again, it was one of those bittersweet things to where we were just ready to kind of spread our wings and bet on ourselves in kind of like a different area inside of the industry.”

Neither Compton nor Portnoy said exactly how much the new deal with FanDuel is. The Barstool president claims it was competitive. Compton says otherwise. Either way, it appears that, at least for now, both sides have moved on with their lives.
