Bayern Munich add Liverpool forward as one of their key targets, would have to pay €70m - Liverpool News
Bayern Munich have added Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo as one of their key targets this summer, and have learned the deal would cost at least €70m. German publication Kicker has reported that the Bundesliga champions have held talks with the representatives of the player, and see Gakpo as a top addition to their squad.
The 26 year old joined Liverpool in 2022 from PSV and has 3 years remaining on his current contract. He scored ten goals and provided four assists in 35 Premier League appearances last season as Liverpool were crowned champions.
Much of those appearances came from the substitutes bench however as Gakpo has struggled for consistency. Bayern are reportedly seeking attacking reinforcements this summer, with the future of a number of key men still uncertain.

Leroy Sane is out of contract at the end of June and is yet to agree a new deal with the club, while Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry are also reportedly open to departures. Sane has been linked with free transfers to both Arsenal and Tottenham.
AC Milan’s Rafael Leao is the other name reportedly high on the list at Bayern, and would reportedly cost €70m as well.
Bayern targeting Gakpo
As for Liverpool, sales could be on the agenda this summer after seeing an €100m offer rejected for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz. Leverkusen is said to be holding out for closer to €150m, which would mean Liverpool would need to raise additional funds.
Darwin Nunez is one name expected to depart Anfield this summer after an indifferent Liverpool career. He is attracting interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League as well as across Europe and could command a significant fee. Konstantinos Tsimikas, Joe Gomez, and Harvey Elliot are the other names most linked with departures as Arne Slot looks to reshuffle his side.
Should Wirtz join, an attacking player is expected to depart and Gakpo could be sacrificed if demands are met.
Liverpool have already fended off interest in another of their forward players, rejecting Barcelona’s approach for Luis Diaz.
