Gary Neville has claimed Manchester United's iconic Treble is not the Class of 92's greatest achievement.

Instead, Neville pointed to the University Academy 92 (UA92) - where he has just launched a Business of Football Degree.

Speaking to FourFourTwo, Neville admitted: "UA92 is probably the greatest thing we’ve ever done, the greatest thing I’ve ever done.

“We came up with this idea of a university seven years ago to impact young people. The Class of 92 were born out of people believing in us, teaching us, mentoring us in the right way, showing us the right standards.

"We feel we do that at UA92. It’s a very bespoke, different type of university and we set it up to give back to young people. This course now brings in football too, but originally it was around the idea of believing in young people, giving them a chance.

Manchester United youth team coach Eric Harrison is awarded a bottle of champagne and and special trophy by Premier League sponspors Carling for his outstanding work. He has guided his teenage prodigies to three FA Youth Cup Finals in four seasons, including twice as winners. “People say to me ‘What will you look back upon, the moment that you’re not here any more?’ and I genuinely do believe it could be UA92.”

The new degree, at the University which was launched earlier this week, offers unique top-level insights into the football industry.

It will provide students with both on-pitch and off-pitch experience through modules covering governance, player care and talent recruitment. As well as sales, marketing, fan engagement, operations and cutting-edge AI applications.

Neville added: "This degree fills a critical gap in football education in this country. Students won’t just study football business, they’ll experience it.

“Through our partnerships and the involvement of the Class of 92, students gain direct access to current CEOs and chairs of football clubs, creating genuine pathways into employment.

“We’re not just teaching students about the traditional football business, we’re showing them how clubs can unlock new revenue streams, from estate planning to social media strategies. The football industry is evolving rapidly and our graduates will be equipped to lead that change.

“This won’t just benefit the students studying at UA92, this will also benefit the British game as a whole.”
