Sean Dyche has already given David Moyes his seal of approval to sign an Everton target open to leaving his current club.
With The Friedkin Group set to back the club in the summer transfer window, David Moyes has been given free rein to make improvements to his Everton squad.
The Scot needs to make improvements to the squad this summer to build on their 13th-place Premier League finish in the 2024/25 campaign. With several players expected to depart, the desire for fresh faces is clear.
Everton have between £50m and £100m to spend on players this summer, with the main areas in need of improvement being in midfield and attack.
Reports have recently linked Yves Bissouma and Matt O’Riley to Everton, but another name was thrown into the hat on Thursday. He is a player who has already been given the seal of approval from former Everton boss Sean Dyche.

Sean Dyche’s high praise for Everton target Kalvin Phillips
According to reports, Everton are interested in Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips. The 29-year-old has had a troubled year and a half on loan at West Ham United and Ipswich Town, respectively.
Having signed for £60m in 2022, Phillips has failed to impress at Man City, and Pep Guardiola is looking to sell him as a result.
Moyes is a big fan of Phillips, and so is Dyche, who wanted to sign him for Burnley in 2019.

Speaking to Sky Sports in 2019, Dyche said: “I thought he was a very good player then and he’s a very good player now. He’s developed since then and continues to do so, so fair play to him.
“Your scouts are out there collecting information, they are scurrying around, and sometimes one catches your eye. He was one for me, I don’t think my staff liked him as much, but I was strong on him.
“I was quite strong on that one and I thought he would have been a good acquisition for us, but we couldn’t do it. The chairman at the time wouldn’t put the money in that it would have taken. Unfortunately, he was out of our price range.
“That’s the way it goes and he’s proven himself. He’s a player who I thought could continue to improve and he has. I liked him then and I like him now, I think he’s a very good player who has shown that. It doesn’t need me to say that and he’s shown that.”
Kalvin Phillips is one of four Man City players linked to Everton
Guardiola is eager to make changes to his Man City squad this summer, and Everton look like they could benefit significantly from that.
Everton are interested in Jack Grealish, who was left out of Guardiola’s Club World Cup squad alongside James McAtee, who has attracted interest from throughout Europe.
The 22-year-old has impressed in his limited appearances this season, scoring three Premier League goals.
Additionally, Everton are interested in signing John Stones this summer, with his future at Man City also looking bleak. The 31-year-old is one candidate who could replace Jarrad Branthwaite, who has attracted interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur this season.
With the PSR shackles finally loosened at Everton, Moyes is very eager to bring more quality to the team ahead of their move into the new stadium.
