The New York Knicks put together a solid season that saw them reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000, though they came up short of advancing to the NBA Finals.
Of course, the Knicks were eliminated in the Conference Finals in six games by the Indiana Pacers and they then made a shocking decision after their playoff exit to fire head coach Tom Thibodeau.
Because of this, the Knicks’ top priority entering the offseason is finding a new head coach but their attention will then shift to upgrading their roster.

New York is expected to make some changes to their roster this summer to upgrade their bench but they have also been linked to a few star players who they could end up trading for.
They have been linked to Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant along with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who they could aggressively pursue.
According to Gery Woelfel, the Knicks are preparing to make a “tsunami-type offer” this summer to acquire Giannis from the Bucks.
This does not come as a major surprise with New York being linked to Giannis over the last few seasons and with him possibly on his way out of Milwaukee this offseason, the Knicks have emerged as a potential landing spot.
Of course, the Knicks would have to move on from multiple of their key players to land him due to salary reasons and a package may include two of either Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby or Mikal Bridges.

This would be an interesting move for the Knicks to break up their core that led them to the Conference Finals this season but adding another superstar and elite defender next to Jalen Brunson could help New York make a championship run next season.
Despite this, the Knicks do lack draft capital after the Bridges and Towns trades last summer but if they are willing to package multiple of their stars together, they could entice the Bucks enough to land Giannis this summer.
