The Tennessee Titans had a 3-14 overall record during the 2024 NFL season. Tennessee had a poor year because of the play by quarterback Will Levis.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward (1) stretches during OTAs at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park in Nashville, Tenn., Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
Because of this, the Titans landed the number one pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and they drafted quarterback Cam Ward from the Miami Hurricanes. Ward will most likely be Tennessee’s Week 1 starter for the 2025 NFL season. Will they win more games because of him in 2025? It remains to be seen.
NFL Analyst Questions How Much Help Tennessee Titans Quarterback Cam Ward Will Have During Rookie Season

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward (1) and wide receiver Xavier Restrepo (87) stretch during OTAs at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park in Nashville, Tenn., Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
Matt Holder of Bleacher Report has one question for each NFL team after OTAs. For the Titans, he asked, ” Does Cam Ward have enough support to succeed in year one?” Well, one of the biggest issues for Tennessee over the last couple of seasons has been the offensive line. That will need to perform better than it has been.
Holder also said,
“The Titans made several offensive additions this offseason in both free agency and the draft to build up Ward’s supporting cast.
However, most of their veteran signings were older players such as Tyler Lockett and Kevin Zietler, and the front office didn’t draft a wide receiver until the fourth round.
Granted, wideout Calvin Ridley is a significant returner who will catch passes from the rookie, but it’s still fair to question if Ward has the runningmates to hit the ground running. Luckily, those two seem to have hit it off during OTAs.
“From Day 1 I met him, I knew he was going to be in the (play)book, and here,” Ridley said of Ward, per Jim Wyatt of the team’s website.
“It’s easy to relate to him, fun, (he’s) easy to talk ball with…You have to have that (expletive)-it mentality, and he’s got that. I see a great arm, a great mind, someone who knows he can make the throws.””
Calvin Ridley, Tyler Lockett, and Treylon Burks is projected to be the starting wide receiver core. Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears are projected to be the running backs for Tennessee. Chig Okonkwo is projected to be the starting tight end. Everything for Ward will depend upon on the offensive line and making off scheduled plays.
There is no doubt that Ward was the better selection for Tennessee over Shedeur Sanders. It will be interesting to see what Ward will do for the Titans during his rookie season.
