Brentford boss Thomas Frank is the frontrunner to succeed Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur after the Australian was sacked by the Spurs board this afternoon.
Frank, who worked with Spurs’ sporting director Johan Lange at Lyngby, is at the top of Tottenham’s shortlist and Brentford are braced for an approach from the north London club in the coming days. They will have to pay around £10m to secure the services of the highly-regarded Danish coach under the terms of the contract extension he signed with Brentford three years ago.
Fulham head coach Marco Silva and AFC Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola have previously been sounded out by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, but both managers indicated a willingness to remain with their current employers. Silva, who has a year left on his current contract, has told the media and his players that he will be in the Craven Cottage dugout next season.
