But Liverpool will not stop their. This is a transformational window. A transfer period where Hughes will be looking to create era-defining changes in order to bolster Arne Slot's options and create a dynasty.
Anfield Watch exclusively revealed that Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez could both be among the high-profile departures. Now that could be coming to a fruition with several clubs interested in the duo.
If the duo make way, Liverpool are bound to bring in more attacking reinforcements alongside Wirtz. And one of them could be a player who the Reds may have finally gotten a green light to sign after many years of pursuing him.

Liverpool get green light to sign Rodrygo
Back in 2017, while Michael Edwards was the club's sporting director, Liverpool made an ambitious move to sign Rodrygo from Santos.
At the time, Rodrygo was regarded as one of the most exciting young players in world football. In typical Edwards fashion, he was close to agreeing a remarkable €3m transfer.
The only reason the move fell through according to Rodrygo himself is because he wasn't ready to make the move.
"We didn’t close the deal because I didn’t want to," Rodrygo told The Guardian retrospectively back in 2024.
"I wanted to stay at Santos even though the offer was very good. The pathway they promised me would also have been very good for my career. I was going to finish my studies in England to prepare for European football," he said.
“It had always been my dream to play in Europe.
"Everything was very good, but my desire spoke louder. I wanted to stay at Santos and make a bit of history at the club. And that’s what happened: I was able to fulfil my dream of playing for Santos. But it’s true, I almost went to Liverpool.”
At the time, Rodrygo was clearly not ready to make the move to Anfield. However, now he's ready to leave the Spanish giants and Real Madrid are also willing to sell him.
As revealed by Ben Jacobs, Real Madrid are open to selling him for a package worth €90-€100m.
This gives Liverpool the green light to make an approach for the Brazilian and strike a quick agreement. After all Real Madrid have made their demands very public and very open.
All Liverpool need to do is to meet them and at this stage spending the above figure on a multiple Champions League winning star is a brilliant deal.
