Newcastle United have reportedly joined the race to battle Liverpool and Chelsea for a summer transfer target.
The Magpies have just a few days to complete their first round of transfer business, and the window is set to close on Tuesday. After that, Newcastle will have to wait until June 16 before being able to resume their transfer activity for the rest of the summer.
A host of names have already been linked with a move to St James' Park this summer as Newcastle prepare for the return of Champions League football.
ChronicleLive brought you news last month of United's interest in Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae, with further reports now emerging from Germany over the the South Korea international.
It has been claimed that Newcastle will face Premier League competition from Liverpool and Chelsea, while there is also reported to be interest abroad from AC Milan and Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
Bayern signed Kim in the summer of 2023 for a reported fee of €50million (£42million) and the defender helped the club win the Bundesliga title this season.
The report does claim, though, that the 28-year-old could be available for around €35million (£29.5million) this summer.
It has also been suggested that the defender himself would be open to completing a move to the Premier League, although it's not clear if Newcastle are ahead of either Liverpool or Chelsea in the race for his signature.
Kim made 43 appearances for Bayern last season, scoring three goals from centre-back for the Bundesliga champions.
