Ruben Amorim told Man Utd star is getting‘most’out of every other player at Old Trafford, he‘does things properly’

Tom Heaton has admitted that one of his teammates has a “connection” with every single Manchester United player at Old Trafford under manager Ruben Amorim.

Ruben Amorim is now preparing ahead for the 2025-26 campaign at Old Trafford after a disappointing 2024-25 Premier League season for the Red Devils.

Manchester United ended last season in 15th place in the Premier League table, which is the club’s worst standing since the top-flight league’s inception in 1992.

Amorim will now oversee a new Premier League season where United will be without any European football after their dreadful run of form in the 2024-25 campaign.

The Red Devils could have had Champions League football for next season, but United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham in May ended those hopes.

Amorim, who left Sporting CP and arrived at Old Trafford in 2024, is expected to have a major overhaul of the United first-team squad in the summer window.

Tom Heaton reveals what Bruno Fernandes does in training after the Man Utd captain’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year win

Bruno Fernandes was a shining light for Manchester United fans last season after the Red Devils skipper continued to outshine his club teammates on the pitch.

The 30-year-old United captain captured the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for the fourth time in his prolific playing career at Old Trafford.

Bruno Fernandes’ latest Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year win has put him on a record-tying four wins alongside United legends Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea.

Speaking to Manchester United’s official website, Tom Heaton has now explained how the Portugal and United midfielder sets a high standard in training sessions.

When asked about Fernandes, he said: “I find him a bit frustrating in training [laughs] because he’s one of those players that can do everything and it’s difficult as a goalkeeper!

“Especially in and around goal. He can bend it, he can strike through it, he can go round you… he’s top. His ability in terms of what he brings on the football pitch is special.

“On top of that, how he goes about his business every day in training… he’s bang at it every day and does things properly.”

Tom Heaton now tells Man Utd fans what they don’t see from Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford

Bruno Fernandes scored an impressive 19 times and registered 19 assists for the Red Devils in 57 matches across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign.

Heaton has now insisted that the Portugal international shows his superb qualities as United captain with his relationship with other players under Ruben Amorim.

“What people don’t always see are the demands that he puts on people,” he continued.

“There’s not a person in the dressing room that he doesn’t have a connection with, in terms of getting the most out of them – supporting them when they need it, a quiet word in the ear, an arm round them, or whether it’s delivering a no-nonsense approach about needing more from them.

“He does that very well and he does it in his own way. Everyone across the squad feels that from him. I’ve seen him do it extremely well over the last few seasons.”

Fernandes has been away from United after the post-season tour of Asia in May and he is currently representing Portugal for his country’s Nations League campaign.
