Sources: Tottenham want ‘incredible’ manager, Levy has met with him ‘multiple times’

Tottenham Hotspur have made Brentford manager Thomas Frank their top target to become their new boss after they decided to sack Ange Postecoglou, GIVEMESPORT sources understand.

The Lilywhites made the decision to part ways with the Greek-Australian coach on Friday afternoon, despite him winning the Europa League and ending the club's 17-year trophy drought - securing Champions League football for the 2025/26 season in the process.

Ultimately a shocking Premier League campaign, in which the club lost 22 times in 38 games, has cost him his job, and now Daniel Levy is eyeing the Dane as his replacement.

Tottenham have been considering sacking Postecoglou for several months due to poor performances in the league, but ultimately kept faith and were rewarded by winning the Europa League.

However, plans have already been in motion to replace him with several candidates considered, and GMS sources understand that chairman Levy has already met with Frank multiple times about the job.

Frank, who has been described as 'incredible', is considered to be the top contender for the job now after spending almost seven years with Brentford - where he led the club to a 10th place finish in the Premier League last season.

Tottenham are also big fans of Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth and Marco Silva of Fulham, but the Cherries are confident of keeping hold of the Spaniard while Silva confirmed at the back end of the 2024/25 season that he will be staying at Craven Cottage, having rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia.

Marseille boss Roberto Di Zerbi was also considered, and was a contender for the Inter Milan job following Simone Inzaghi's exit, but the Ligue 1 also expect him to be in charge next season. There is no formal release clause in Di Zerbi's contract as that illegal in France.

Crystal Palace chief Oliver Glasner was also said to be under consideration, although the Austrian helped the Eagles to win the FA Cup and therefore qualified for European football, which is likely to rule him out of the running.

Frank is believed to have a release clause worth around £9million in his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium, but it's unknown whether that will be a stumbling block in negotiations.

Postecoglou leaves the club after 101 games in charge, winning 47 of them and losing 39. Tottenham are hopeful of making a final decision on their next manager next week.
