Steelers On Brink Of Massive Trade For Aaron Rodgers 1 Day After He Signs With Team

The Pittsburgh Steelers finally got their guy, Aaron Rodgers agreed to a one year deal on Thursday. While the move was expected, many started to wonder if it would ever happen as training camp is just around the corner.

Now Pittsburgh is looking to add another huge weapon for their Hall of Fame quarterback.

After trading for DK Metcalf and letting George Pickens go through a trade, the Pittsburgh Steelers are still searching for another pass catcher:

Pittsburgh sorted out their quarterback situation, with Aaron Rodgers finally agreeing to join them after a lengthy wait. They are now looking to fill out other positions, mainly tight end, with reports indicating that there’s some interest in Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Steelers have called the Atlanta Falcons about Kyle Pitts.

If ever there was a player with a fitting name for the Steelers, it would have to be him.

Pitts is entering the final year of his rookie deal with the Falcons and is attracting attention around the NFL. However, the Steelers weren’t mentioned as an interested team until Rap’s update on Friday.

“They’ve had their eyes on tight ends, too,” Rapaport said on ‘Good Morning Football.’ “Kyle Pitts, there was a phone call there. The Steelers are in the market for at least one more playmaker.”

Should they get him, Pitts would be a significant addition for the Steelers. He is very familiar with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, who was the Falcons head coach from 2021 to 2023, and was a formidable receiver playing under the Steelers OC.

He recorded 1,026 receiving yards off of 68 catches as a rookie, making the Pro Bowl in his first year.

The passes seem to be drying up in Atlanta, as he was only targeted 74 times last season, making 47 receptions.

Pitts has put together 2,651 receiving yards, 196 catches, and 10 touchdowns for his career.

It will be an interesting dynamic if Pittsburgh could pair him up with their new QB next season.
