When it comes to NFL stars involved in trade rumors, Jalen Ramsey is at the very center of offseason activity.
Ramsey will be entering his age-31 season when the 2025 campaign kicks off in September, but he remains one of the top players at his position – and a star who can be a valuable asset to many franchises.
But there are a few destinations that could be mutually beneficial for both parties, and NFL.com analyst Maurice Jones-Drew believes one of Ramsey's former teams is among them. He proposes that the Los Angeles Rams should engage in trade discussions with the Miami Dolphins for Ramsey as they battle with the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Arizona Cardinals for playoff spots in the NFC West.
"Ramsey and the Dolphins have mutually agreed to explore trade options, and there's no doubt the Rams are a realistic landing spot. Even head coach Sean McVay has commented on the possibility of reuniting with the veteran cornerback in Los Angeles, where Ramsey helped the franchise win a Super Bowl in the 2021 season," Jones-Drew wrote. "He is still playing at a high level despite turning 30 years old last October and would add championship experience to the team's secondary. If the two sides can strike a deal, it could be a key move in Los Angeles' quest to get back to the Super Bowl.

As Jones-Drew mentioned, McVay has publicly commented on a potential Ramsey return to Los Angeles, but the Rams head coach understands there are multiple variables at play before any deal can be struck.
"There are a lot of layers when you're talking about a player of his caliber with regards to the contract, the compensation that they would be looking for in exchange for receiving a player of his magnitude. And so those conversations are ongoing, as I'm sure they are with multiple teams," McVay told Adam Schein of Sirius XM's Mad Dog Sports Radio, via Rams Wire's Cameron DaSilva. "We'll see, but we're never going to shy away from opportunities to increase the competitiveness of our roster or add great players as long as it fits within the framework of everything that an acquisition like that would entail."
The 2025 season will mark Ramsey's 10th season as a professional football player. He has put together a decorated NFL career in his time with the Dolphins, Rams, and Jacksonville Jaguars, which includes three First-Team All-Pro selections, seven Pro Bowl nods, and a Super Bowl LVI championship.
