Report names which Celtic is most likely to be traded

Sam Hauser is emerging as the most likely Boston Celtics player to be traded due to financial constraints.

The Boston Celtics are a team to watch this summer as they navigate roster decisions amid new CBA rules and financial pressures. Changes are expected, and a roster shake-up seems likely.

According to Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix, forward Sam Hauser might be the most likely Celtic to be moved.

"Hauser, to me, is the most likely candidate to go, just because you have [Baylor] Scheierman there to effectively fill his role," Mannix said. "I think they'd love to find a home for Jrue Holiday, just because of the contract and where they are as a team."

Hauser's new contract kicks in next season at $10 million annually, but that salary could cost the Celtics as much as around $90 million in total due to the luxury tax.

The 27-year-old has been with Boston since going undrafted in 2021 and averaged 8.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game this past season.

Mannix also mentioned Kristaps Porzingis as another player Boston could look to move. His large salary, combined with his injury concerns, makes him a trade candidate.

"Porzingis, who knows? I don't think they want to take on contracts that go on longer than Porzingis' deal, but he's certainly available," Mannix added.

The Celtics may find it easier to replace Hauser than Holiday or Porzingis, which makes him a logical cost-cutting option. However, it's possible that all three could be on the move, and even Jaylen Brown's name has surfaced in trade rumors.

At this point, it seems like everyone not named Jayson Tatum is on the table in Boston.
