Man United Have 'Agreed' £200K A Week, 5 Year Contract With "Unbelievable" Forward

Manchester United have “agreed” personal terms with Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, according to reports.

The Mirror journalist David McDonnell claims that the 25-year-old will earn around £200,000 a week if he completes his move to Old Trafford.

It is believed that the length of Mbeumo’s contract is five years, with an option to extend for another twelve months.

The forward has already given his approval to joining United, with the Red Devils having seen off interest from the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle.

Are United close to agreeing a transfer fee with Brentford?

While it appears there is no issue on the player side, the Red Devils have still not found an agreement with his club when it comes to the price tag.

At the time of writing, Ruben Amorim’s side have had one bid rejected for Mbeumo, which was said to be worth £45m upfront, and another £10m in performance-related bonuses.

McDonnell reports that a second and “final” offer will be made, which will be worth £55m with another £5m in add-ons. It is hoped that this will be accepted as it would be close to Brentford’s valuation.

Mbeumo has received fulsome praise from his manager

The Cameroon international had an outstanding season for Brentford, scoring 20 Premier League goals. Speaking about the forward and his teammate Yoane Wissa back in April, Bees head coach Thomas Frank said:

“I’m very happy that he’s shining. It’s a duo, of course, him and Wissa. Wissa is fantastic. He has scored actually more open-play goals than Bryan still but Bryan is the penalty taker, unbelievable at penalties, assists, work ethic, an unbelievable player.”

Mbeumo would be expected to compete with the likes of Amad Diallo for a place in Amorim’s starting lineup if he does finalise his transfer to Manchester.
