Manchester United and Arsenal have being battling over Viktor Gyokeres’ signature for weeks alongside current English champions Liverpool as all three sides look to improve their squads ahead of the 2025-26 season.

With all 3 sides in need of a striker this summer, Gyokeres arguably is an essential asset for all three sides with his immaculate goal-scoring record, physicality and immense presence.

Gyokeres was previously under the wing of Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim during the pair’s time at Sporting CP.

Now with Gyokeres looking to be leaving Sporting, he may end back up at Old Trafford after revealing his choice to choose a club in England.

Furthermore, the striker has now revealed his opinion on a potential transfer to Arsenal who aim to sign Gyokeres from the Portuguese champions as their new starting number 9.

Speaking on the matter, Gyokeres said “Let’s see. It’s hard for me to say, because yeah it is football and you never know what’s going to happen in the summer. So for me to say anything else than that is impossible.”

If Gyokeres were to join Arsenal, he would be joining a side who can guarantee Champions League football, something that United are unable to do following their 15th place finish and defeat in the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur.

Gyokeres is also not new to English football following his spells at Brighton and most recognisably Coventry City where he starred during the 2022-23 season when the Blues made the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final.

However, now Gyokeres is looking for a new challenge and a starting role in the Premier League arguably represents exactly what he could be looking for.

Wherever the 27 year old goes, he will go there to the sound of delight of a fanbase and the ability to offer a substantial threat to any Premier League side during the course of the 2025-26 season
