At long last, the Pittsburgh Steelers and future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers have worked out a deal and joined forces. After an offseason full of rumors, reports, and speculation, Rodgers is officially the new starting quarterback for the Steelers.
Both the team and Rodgers have one goal in mind. They want to compete for a championship together during the 2025 NFL season.
Rodgers is getting a one-year deal from Pittsburgh. It's not for certain, but this could very well be his final football season. If that is the case, this will be the farewell tour for one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.
Following the deal getting done, there has been a split reaction to the news. Some believe that Rodgers can lead the Steelers on a deep run. Others think it's a bad move for the franchise.

One of the 41-year-old quarterback's former teammates has spoken out with a firm stance on the deal. That teammate is none other than former Green Bay Packers wide receiver James Jones.
During a segment on FS1's "The Facility," Jones did not hold back from issuing his thoughts on the upcoming season for Rodgers and Pittsburgh.
"Well, they're a playoff team now, again, and once you get to the playoffs, anything can happen," Jones said. "We all know, you just want to punch your ticket to the dance... Coach [Mike] Tomlin should have a smile on his face this morning because now your team has a chance to compete... Aaron Rodgers walks into that building, instantly, you are a playoff team."
Those are some strong words from Jones. However, Rodgers has proved time and time again that he's a magician with the football in his hands.

Even last season with the New York Jets, Rodgers played a strong season. He completed 63 percent of his pass attempts for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. The team may not have played well, but Rodgers proved he still has it.
Now, the Steelers must go all-in on trying to win in 2025. Adding another weapon for Rodgers would make a lot of sense. Any move available to improve the roster should be made.
While some aren't thrilled about Rodgers becoming the new lead man in Pittsburgh, he gives the franchise the best chance to win. It's going to be a very entertaining season for the Steelers with one of the best of all time powering the offense.
