Haason Reddick's Private Workouts Bad News For Buccaneers

Haason Reddick was once a finalist for the defensive player of the year award. His pass rushing ability made him one of the most feared players in the game.

In just two short seasons, though, that legacy has been tarnished.

And he only has himself to blame.

With Reddick absent from Tampa Bay Buccaneers voluntary workouts, concern for the edge rusher has only grown in recent weeks. While he has posted videos of his workouts on social media, he remains away from the team that gave him a one-year deal in the offseason.

And that is bad news for the Bucs.

Remember, this is now the third straight year that Reddick has been away from the team during voluntary workouts. He pushed for a new deal with the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2023 offseason. He did the same thing with the New York Jets in 2024.

Now? Reddick got the deal he deserved for sitting out for half the season last year with the Jets. The single sack he recorded was the lowest of his career since being moved to a pure edge rusher.

He was lucky to get the $14 million deal he received from Tampa Bay.

How does he reward Tampa's loyalty and belief in him as a player? By not showing up to learn a new defense.

This is who Reddick is now. This is who he wants to be seen as. Even if he shows up to mandatory minicamp, analysts will look at him as a player that is simply out for himself and his numbers.

It's a bad mixture for a Buccaneers team that believes they are close to Super Bowl contention. And the more Reddick posts his private workouts as evidence he's ready for the season, the worse it'll look for the organization as well.
