“He’s Bad For The Club”–Ferguson’s Former Assistant Urges Man United To Sell£60M Rated Winger

Ex-Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen believes Alejandro Garnacho should be sold by the club this summer.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s former assistant told Tipman Tips that the Argentinian international is more trouble than he is worth and the Red Devils could raise a decent amount from offloading him, which they could spend on other signings:

“He’s a young boy, but personality-wise, some things are not right with him and he’s bad for the club. That shows in his performances and lack of consistency.”

“He’s a young player who has good value to him, so if they were to get offered any sort of money, they should cut their losses, because he isn’t going to live up to his potential at Old Trafford and that can free up some money to spend elsewhere.”

Garnacho has hinted that he wants to leave

Speaking after the defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final last month, the 20-year-old expressed his disappointment at not being named in the starting lineup for the match.

Garnacho was clearly not happy with Ruben Amorim’s decision, stating in his interview that we will “see what happens” over the summer, hinting that a transfer is on the cards.

How much can Man United raise from selling the player?

The Red Devils were looking for around £60m when he was put on the market during the January transfer window. There have been some suggestions that they have lowered their asking price to between £40m and £50m since then but a lot hinges on the number of potential buyers.

Chelsea are said to be keen but there are rumours that they may pursue Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens instead. Arsenal, Napoli and Atletico Madrid have been linked as well.
