NBA Commissioner Adam Silver hinted that the Finals trophy logo could be making a return.
NBA fans have been calling for the return of the iconic NBA Finals trophy logo on the court for years.
The last time the trophy logo was featured during the Finals was in 2009, when the Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Orlando Magic.
Since then, the league has stopped using it, partly due to concerns about player safety.
However, there may be hope for its return. During an NBA Cares charity event in Oklahoma City on Friday, commissioner Adam Silver acknowledged the growing fan interest and indicated that the league is open to revisiting the idea.
"Maybe there’s a way around it," Silver said, per The Athletic's Sam Amick. “To be honest, I hadn’t thought all that much about it until I saw it on social media."
"I’m nostalgic, as well, for certain things," he added. "It’s nice when you’re looking back on highlights and they stand out because you see that trophy logo or some other indication that it’s a special event. So, we’ll look at it.”
