Thomas Meunier Still Dreaming of Old Trafford Move

Thomas Meunier is currently playing his football at Lille. He has once again shared his dream for Manchester United. He wants to make the move happen one day.

🇧🇪🔴 Thomas Meunier on Manchester United: “If they ever ask me, I’ll cycle there. But maybe it’s better this way. Suppose I play there and have a bad time. The Belgian right-back is 33, and may be approaching the end of his playing days. But, that has not stopped him enjoying the Red Devils. He has played for top clubs like PSG and Borussia Dortmund. But, he has not yet played in the Premier League.

Several closed opportunities over the years have not settled his love for Utd. He previously spoke about his admiration for the club as early as 2019. Although, a deal never took place during his PSG or Dortmund days. But, the defender continues to hold on to the dream.

A Decorated Career Without Premier League Experience

Even without a spell in England, Meunier’s career has been impressive. He lifted domestic trophies with Club Brugge. That includes winning the Belgian Cup and League title in the mid 2010’s. At PSG, he won more trophies which included multiple Ligue 1 titles and Coupe de France titles. He even played in the Champions League final in 2020.

The defender followed that up with a move to Borussia Dortmund. There he added a German Cup to his trophy cabinet. In 2024, he made a transfer to Ligue 1 club Lille after his previous club, Trabzonspor, was unable to fulfill his demands.

He was a part of the Belgium team in 2018 that left the World Cup in third place, and made the Marca/Forbes All-Star team.

Now with Lille, he is still playing solid football. But, deep down, he’s holding out hope for one last shot. He wants to wear the Manchester United jersey before hanging up his boots.
