Mario Lemina sends Rayan Ait-Nouri Instagram message that will anger Wolves fans ahead of Man…

Rayan Ait-Nouri is set to become the latest Wolves player to leave on a permanent deal in the summer transfer window.

Matheus Cunha was confirmed as a Manchester United player on Sunday, bringing the curtain down on a successful two-and-a-half years at Wolves.

The next to follow him out of the door will be his Algerian teammate. Rayan Ait-Nouri is having his Manchester City medical this weekend after agreeing a five-year contract with the Citizens.

Ait-Nouri is leaving for around £33.7 million, although some reports suggest a fee will reach north of £40 million with add-ons.

Wolves fans will be sad once the 24-year-old is officially announced as a City player in the coming days, and that isn’t the only feeling on their mind.

Mario Lemina’s sends message to Rayan Ait-Nouri ahead of Man City transfer

During his time at Molineux, Mario Lemina quickly went from being a hero to a villain. The 31-year-old was named as captain last summer before being stripped of the role in December after being involved in a brawl against West Ham.

Lemina then refused to play for Wolves against Newcastle United in January, and that was the beginning of the end for him.

Galatasaray signed Lemina in January for £2.5 million, with Wolves fans happy to see him go, and now he keeps on making comments that irritate the fanbase.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

Lemina sent a message to Cunha, wishing him well before he even completed his Manchester United transfer, and now he’s done the same to Ait-Nouri.

On his Instagram story, the Gabon international penned the following message.

“You’ve been patient, my brother. It hasn’t been easy every day. But beyond all that, you’re so strong and you deserve this. Enjoy, my brother.”

The message might not sit well with some Wolves fans, given that neither club has not yet made the transfer official.

Ait-Nouri can go to an even higher level at Man City

Micah Richards called Ait-Nouri one of the Premier League’s best, and it’s hard to argue against that revelation.

No defender in 2024/25 recorded more goals and assists than the Algerian international, with Ait-Nouri even supplying more contributions than Real Madrid-bound Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Rayan Ait-Nouri’s Wolves stats

157 appearances

12 goals

19 assists

The exciting wing-back has truly evolved his game over the past 12 months, and now he has the opportunity to work under Pep Guardiola, he can reach world-class levels.

Ait-Nouri will be surrounded by quality players across the pitch, including Ballon d’Or winner Rodri, so it’s impossible to imagine him not taking his game to a higher level.

Of course, he will have huge pressure on his shoulders at one of the biggest clubs in the world, but he’s earned his chance to play for Man City, and Wolves fans will hope he succeeds.
