The future of Jack Grealish is a big talking point ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Apart from an impressive 2022/23 campaign, the winger has underwhelmed since he completed his £100m move to the Etihad Stadium during the summer of 2021, as the Englishman has not lived up to that price tag.
Last season was the 29-year-old’s worst since moving to Manchester, which is set to result in Grealish being left out of the Man City squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
Ally McCoist has advised Grealish to leave Man City over the coming weeks as the winger’s situation at the Etihad is not expected to change.
That is also the advice Thomas Tuchel has now suggested for the 29-year-old if the City star still hopes to be part of the England squad that could potentially play at the FIFA World Cup next summer.

Thomas Tuchel advises Jack Grealish to seek more minutes
Michael Owen revealed this week that he heard Guardiola has been willing to let Grealish leave Man City for months, and that is an opportunity the winger needs to take this summer.

Playing at a World Cup is what every footballer dreams of as a kid, and at present, Grealish has no chance of being part of Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 tournament should they qualify, as he is not getting enough minutes at Man City, the German has admitted.
“I have maybe the same information as you that City are thinking of not taking him to the Club World Cup, Tuchel said during his press conference on Friday about the latest developments surrounding Grealish.
“So he needs to make himself available by playing. I think it’s one of his key strengths. To go every three days and get better and better with every minute that he has in his legs. That’s what is missing, nothing else.
“I love Jack for his personality and of course, his talent. He is a very unique player who can handle big pressure on the field. He is never shy of pressure. It’s the opposite.
“He grows in big matches, but he’s a player who needs minutes and minutes and minutes and simply does not get them for a very long time. That’s basically everything. Nothing has changed.”
It was reported on Friday that Grealish knows his Man City career is over and that the winger is now seeking a move ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, as several clubs are interested in the 29-year-old.

It was reported this week that Napoli are keen on signing Grealish this summer, with the Italian club the most likely option for the Englishman at present.
The Serie A champions will be challenged in the race for Grealish by their rivals, AC Milan, which is also a possible destination for the 29-year-old.

Jack Grealish’s career at Man City
Should the Man City star want to remain in the Premier League, Tottenham have expressed interest in Grealish; however, the finances involved are likely to put the London club off making a move for the Englishman.
Over the coming weeks, more teams may join the race for Grealish, but what is certain is that the 29-year-old needs to leave Man City if he has any ambition to play for England again.
