Newcastle have “small interest” in Bayern star; player wants to move elsewhere

Newcastle United will be looking to spend big in the summer window, but they are unlikely to sign Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

The Magpies will be playing in the Champions League next season under Eddie Howe, and they plan to bolster their attacking wide areas. Coman emerged as one of their targets.

Coman has won nine Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich, but it appears that his time at the German club will come to an end this summer.

Coman is one of the players Bayern are willing to offload this summer.

He has scored 70 goals in 335 appearances for the German giants, but his fitness remains a major concern.

Christian Falk informed CFBayern that Newcastle have “small interest” in Coman, but the French winger prefers to move to Saudi Arabia instead.

A potential move to St James’ Park is not the first priority for the 28-year-old. The German champions are waiting for an official offer from the Saudi Pro League club, Al-Hilal.

“Both sides are of the opinion that they will split this summer,” the head of football at BILD exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.

“The rumours around Barcelona are not true – they can’t afford him. By contrast, Saudi Arabia are, at the moment, more concrete for the player. Al-Hilal are interested.

“There’s also some small interest from Newcastle, but this isn’t Coman’s first option. So, he would rather go to Saudi Arabia and take the big paycheck. Bayern are now waiting for an official offer.”

Kingsley Coman unlikely to join Newcastle United

Coman would be a great option for any team that are looking to sign a touchline winger on the cheap, but he cannot be trusted to play every week.

He has won league titles with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, and has played 58 times for the France national team.

It appears that Coman wants a big paycheck, and hence, moving to Saudi Arabia is a more lucrative option for him.

While a move to Newcastle would have given him a fresh challenge in his career, it appears that Coman wants to enjoy the rest of his career in a less competitive league.
