[Joan Garcia is expected to complete move from Espanyol to Barcelona shortly](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/6/3/24441930/joan-garcia-one-step-away-from-joining-barcelona) and is being tipped for great things already.
Jesús Salvador, Garcia’s goalkeeping coach for four years at RCD Espanyol, has told Onda Cero that he has what it takes to become the best in the world in his position.
> “He will end up being the best in the world,” he explained. “Because of the performance he has given, he is going to take a very big step.

> “He’s a very smart guy. He understands the game, what is asked of him according to the game model. That’s part of his talent.”
Salvador then went on to speak about Garcia’s strengths and what he will have to get used to at Barcelona.
> “His ability to read what the opponent is doing. It has been part of his learning. That the goalkeeper not only looked at the ball, but also at the player and his non-verbal communication,” he explained.

> “He goes unnoticed off the field, but he transforms inside. He has a lot of personality, prominence in the air. He is used to conceding many scoring chances and now, if he ends up at Barcelona, he will go through the opposite.

> “He will not have as much work but when he does, he will have to be highly efficient. It involves brutal concentration. That aspect doesn’t scare me about Joan. He is ready to increase his performance.”
