Chelsea player ‘really wants’ transfer – Front page news in home country

João Félix has struggled to have a prolonged spell of settled top-level football throughout his career.

Now 25-years-of-age, he hasn’t played 100 games for any club and the team with the most matches on his CV, by far, is Atlético Madrid, where he never really seemed to settle and wasn’t fully appreciated by Diego Simeone.

Chelsea have owned the player since 2024, after he earlier arrived from Los Rojiblancos on a loan deal. João Félix spent the second half of the recently concluded season on loan at AC Milan, however, he struggled to really make an impact again and there was little doubt he’d be returning to Chelsea.

Saturday’s edition of [A Bola](http://abola.pt) has the player splashed across the front page and the story is about a potential return to Benfica. According to the Portuguese newspaper, Chelsea want to sell the attacker and he ‘really wants’ to return to the Lisbon club.

João Félix is said to believe that he can ‘recover his happiness’ at his boyhood club, and Benfica are considering a large expense to make the move happen.

Chelsea are said to be determined to sell the player on a permanent basis and Benfica could pay €25m. Perhaps the bigger problem is salary, and if João Félix is as determined to return home as A Bola suggest, then he’s going to have to take a financial hit.
