Man City make Newcastle’s Tino Livramento top transfer target

Manchester City are pursuing a transfer for Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento, with Pep Guardiola identifying the 22-year-old as a top target to strengthen his back line.

The Daily Mail reported that City are aware that a deal could prove costly, with Newcastle determined to keep the full-back in tow ahead of his age-23 season.

Livramento joined Newcastle from Southampton in 2023 in a transfer worth nearly £40 million. He has three years remaining on his contract, and he’s coming off featuring in 37 Premier League matches this past season.

According to the Daily Mail, City are pushing ahead with other full-back options, including talks with Wolves over Rayan Ait-Nouri, but Livramento remains a priority as long as NUFC agrees to a reasonable fee.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday night that Livramento is considered City’s “No. 1 target” at right-back.

Livramento has emerged as a regular starter under Eddie Howe, overtaking Kieran Trippier in the rotation and impressing on both defensive and attacking fronts, which is why envisaging any departure from Tyneside at this point is hard, to say the least.

Livramento’s ability to play both flanks and his experience at a young age have reportedly made him a standout option in City’s recruitment plans, but it’d take a mammoth offer to convince Howe to let his pupil go.
