Romano: Chiesa ‘prioritises’ Italian homecoming this summer – where Milan are positioned

AC Milan are one of the clubs interested in Federico Chiesa, and a report has emerged today that he hopes to return to Italy this summer.

There have been links between Milan and Chiesa for ages now. Last summer, the Rossoneri were involved with proceedings, however, the winger chose a move to Liverpool. Then, with his playing time limited, there have been constant suggestions that he could move back to Italy.

Now, it seems a tangible possibility. The Merseyside outfit have become ‘open’ to his departure, on the right conditions, and clubs are coming forward for the winger’s signature. Today, perhaps the biggest piece of news has been revealed, though.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chiesa is ‘prioritising’ a move to Italy in the mercato, and clubs have begun contact over the possibility of a deal, with the conditions being told to them. It has previously been reported that a loan move would not be favoured; however, if the player wants to leave desperately, it may become an option later in the window.

From what has already been reported, we know that he is ‘open’ to a move to San Siro, with the Rossoneri already beginning discussions with Liverpool in the past few weeks.
