David de Gea supports Marcus Rashford after two-word update amid Man United uncertainty

The future of Marcus Rashford at Manchester United remains uncertain in the summer transfer window, with various reports over where he could be playing next season emerging.

The forward is available for transfer before the September 1 deadline, with United putting a price of £40 million on his head. Rashford spent the second half of the season with Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

He impressed during his stay at Villa Park, scoring four goals and providing six assists in the 17 appearances for the club in all competitions. Villa do have the option to make the deal permanent this summer for £40m, but there is uncertainty over if he will return to the club given they failed to secure qualification to the Champions League.

Rashford hinted that he may not with a goodbye post on social media following the final game of the season against United. Barcelona are another club linked with an interest, with some suggestions that the forward is ready to take a pay cut to complete the move.

For now, like many footballers, Rashford is recharging on holiday as he recovers from the season just gone and starts preparations for the new campaign.

The player has shared pictures of him working by the pool with a personal trainer in Cannes, France, on his Instagram page. In the caption he wrote: “Everyday hussle” along with a battery emoji.

The United man has received support from United teammates current and old. Among the over 300,000 people to ‘like’ the post is former United goalkeeper David De Gea.

Other former teammates to like it are Anthony Martial, Facu Pellistri and Danny van De Beek.

Current United teammates Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot and club captain Bruno Fernandes also ‘liked’ the post.

One person to like the post, who could be a future teammate is Barcelona star Lamine Yamal. The 17-year-old has broken into the Barcelona first team over the last couple of seasons and has made a big impact in both La Liga and the Champions League.
