Liverpool have already been one of the busiest teams in the transfer window this summer.
The Anfield outfit brought two new faces in last season, with only one of them actually staying at the club rather than being loaned out.
In fact, Liverpool haven’t had a busy transfer window for some time, so it feels like the Reds are way overdue for one.

So, it isn’t all that much of a surprise to see the rumour mill going into overdrive, even after Jeremie Frimpong has already arrived at Anfield.
Malick Fofana is now a ‘prime’ target for Liverpool
Liverpool have been linked with a whole host of players so far, and at the moment, it’s unclear who’s actually going to become one of Arne Slot’s men.
Luis Diaz feels as if he’s the most likely to leave this summer, with an offer from Barcelona already getting rejected by Liverpool.
And, as per a report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool are ‘keen’ on making a move for Lyon ace, Malick Fofana, who is now one of their ‘prime’ targets.
The report adds that the Belgian is one of the most ‘sought-after talents’ in Europe, with Lyon slapping a £40million price tag onto the top of his head.

Liverpool are not alone in their chase, though, as TEAMtalk outlines that Arsenal, Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid, and Juventus are all also eyeing a transfer for the winger.

Malick Fofana’s agent has already said Liverpool would be a dream move for him
With the transfer window now open, the silly season is more than likely to start with the rumour mill going into overdrive.
As mentioned, Liverpool have already been linked with several players ahead of the 2025-26 season, but the Anfield outfit’s interest in Fofana could genuinely be something that’s taken seriously.
The reason for that is that, back in March, Fofana’s agent spoke about how the Belgian wants to follow in the footsteps of African legends such as Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Indeed, this could all just be a load of nothing from his agent to try and get a move to Liverpool over the line, but with the way things have gone throughout the summer thus far, a move doesn’t seem that surprising.
Only time will tell what the future holds, but for now, the Reds must focus on getting Florian Wirtz over the line as soon as possible.
