**Chelsea could still make a move for Olympiakos forward Charalampos Kostoulas despite Brighton being “very confident” that they will secure the teenager’s signature, according to _Sky Germany_ journalist Florian Plettenberg.**
The Seagulls are hoping to sign the Greek international for €47m (£40m) but Plettenberg [says](https://x.com/Plettigoal/status/1931095593432252812) the deal has not been finalised, and Enzo Maresca’s side are hovering in the background:
“Understand Brighton are very confident of getting the deal done for Charalampos Kostoulas! It’s not completed yet, but talks are advanced – the package is worth around €47 million.”
“Still worth watching whether Chelsea make another move. The 18-year-old talented striker is under contract with Olympiakos until 2030.”
What do fans need to know about Kostoulas?
------------------------------------------
The youngster came through Olympiakos’s academy before he made his senior debut against Volos NPS at the start of last season.
Kostoulas is ostensibly a striker but he can also be deployed as a No.10 or on the wing if needed. He played 35 times across the course of the 24/25 campaign, scoring 7 goals and registering 2 assists.
Chelsea have already spent a sizeable sum on a young forward
------------------------------------------------------------
The Blues confirmed the arrival of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town earlier this week. They triggered the £30m release clause in his contract.
While the London club are believed to be in the market for another No.9, they will probably be looking for someone with more experience than Kostoulas.
Reports suggest that negotiations have taken place with Eintracht Frankfurt for Hugo Ekitike. The Frenchman’s asking price does, however, remain a key sticking point. His team are said to be holding out for €100m (£84m). That is a very high transfer fee for a player who has only really made a name for himself over the last 12 months.
