Only a week ago, Paris Saint-Germain were preparing for their Champions League Final clash against Inter Milan. Now, they have set a surprisingly low asking price for star goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper has been in outstanding form for PSG this season, keeping 12 clean sheets and only conceding 39 goals in all competitions.

Donnarumma was crucial to PSG’s European success this season, making match winning saves against Arsenal in the Champions League semi-finals, securing his sides ticket to the final in Munich.

Gianluigi Donnarumma has also been exceptional for his nation in recent years, playing a vital role in Italy’s triumphant Euro 2020 victory. Donnarumma saved two penalties in the Final shootout against England, being the decisive factor for the Italian side.

PSG’s world class goalkeeper took the opportunity to speak to the press about his future following their Champions League final victory last week. He said “Should I stay at PSG? I don’t know, I don’t know. We’ll see in the next few days. now i’m going to the national team, then we’ll see.”

It has been reported that European giants, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Inter Milan are all looking to secure the Italian’s signature.

According to La Rebubblica via Footmercato, the French champions have set an asking price of €40 million for Donnarumma, which has surprised many considering how important the Italian has been to their recent success.

However, Donnarumma only has one more year at the current European champions, before his contract expires in June 2026.

With no extension agreed and financial terms unresolved, the club is open to selling him this summer.

With the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Inter Milan snooping around for a deal, it is unlikely that Manchester United will be able to approach the Italian.

It is reported that Ruben Amorim is on the look out for a new goalkeeper, and it is clear to see that Gianluigi Donnarumma would be an excellent signing for Manchester United.

However, without the luxuries of Champions League football, it is unlikely that Donnarumma would choose to join Ruben Amorim’s side at Old Trafford.
