Crystal Palace are set to sign a Sporting Lisbon star ahead of Manchester United. Interest has been shown by Manchester United recently and they must act fast if they are to finalise a deal.

London-based side, Crystal Palace won their first ever major trophy back in May, beating Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final.

Since Oliver Glasner’s arrival at Palace, the Eagles have shown a sense of flair in their play and have took the Premier League by storm.

The wide duo of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise have been the two stand-out performers during Glasner’s time as Palace boss.

French trickster, Michael Olise, left Palace during last summer’s transfer window, after impressing European giants Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich paid Crystal Palace €53 million to bring the Frenchman to the Bundesliga. In his first season, the wide man has been a fan favourite for Bayern, scoring 17 goals in 50 games and assisting his team-mates 21 times.

Jean-Philippe Mateta has also showed his capabilities this season, both in cup fixtures and in the Premier League. With the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal hunting for a new striker, Crystal Palace will be hoping to hold on for their leading front man.

With Crystal Palace’s recent FA Cup success and the prospect of European football on the horizon, they are looking to strengthen their squad.

According to The Telegraph, Crystal Palace have explored an ambitious deal for Ivorian centre-back Ousmane Diomande.

With Marc Guehi entering the final year of his contract, bids are expected to come in for the FA Cup winning captain and the club have been looking for alternatives should the Englishman depart.

Diomande, 21, who is one of the most highly rated centre-backs in Europe, has been linked with a move away from Lisbon with Manchester United being one of the sides rumoured to be interested in the young star.

Ruben Amorim nurtured the young star whilst at Sporting and would love to make him a part of his new look United squad.

With Amorim already showing interest in Sporting forward, Victor Gyokeres, the United boss will be looking to continue to add to the statement signing of Brazilian forward, Matheus Cunha.
