West Ham made some big calls at the end of the 2024/25 season, with several significant names leaving the London Stadium.
One player who will be remaining in East London is Tomas Soucek, who still has two years remaining on his current deal.
While several Hammers stars have been enjoying some post-season rest, Soucek has represented his country in a key encounter.
After his display for the Czech Republic, local media have reacted to what he did in the 2-0 win over Montenegro at the Generali Stadium in Prague on Friday.

Soucek underwhelms for West Ham on international duty
West Ham had to make some key decisions on their ageing squad at the end of the season as Potter looks to the future.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
Several names departed the London Stadium, some of whom made memorable contributions during their time in claret and blue.
Aaron Cresswell, Vladimir Coufal, and Lukasz Fabianski will all leave the London Stadium after notching over 750 appearances between them.

The trio put their heart and soul into the badge
Soucek and Coufal were both in action for the Czech Republic, where they continue to make their mark on international football.
Soucek put in an average performance for his country as they defeated Montenegro in their World Cup qualifier, with iSport describing his display (6 June).
They said the midfielder calmly retreated the defenders, went for balls, and was definitely a more confident member of the group.
Furthermore, he controlled the space well, and his performance levels gradually increased after half-time.
Sport.cz were slightly more blunt and said he did not stand out in any way, hitting striker Patrik Schick with one cross that whizzed over the bar.

Soucek can still perform for the Hammers
Given his old-school style of play, Soucek has not been given the credit he warrants for his performances in East London.
He may not be the most glitzy performer, but his aerial ability, strength in a tackle, and presence have been integral to the Hammers’ success.
It seems that the Irons want to move away from the style of play under Moyes, where Soucek thrived.
However, they have been unable to do that thus far and have taken two steps backwards under Lopetegui and Potter.
Perhaps the approach is to get rid of the players who served Moyes so well to let fresh talent flourish in East London.
Soucek can still be a part of that, though, and will be a dangerous weapon that Potter may still exploit.
Of course, the new direction may work, but if it doesn’t, then next season could be a calamitous one for Potter and West Ham.
