It looks like Newcastle United are now upping their attempts to land two key transfer targets.

Last night, The Mail’s Craig Hope revealed that we’re back in early talks with Nottingham Forest over a deal for Anthony Elanga, who has emerged as a leading right winger target.

Less than 24 hours later, [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/06/07/newcastle-step-up-joao-pedro-pursuit-missing-bryan-mbeumo/) have just revealed that we’re stepping up our interest in Brighton forward Joao Pedro, who appears to be a leading attacking target alongside Elanga.

The Brazilian is a long-term target, with the club very nearly signing him from Watford back in 2022, only for a proposed move to collapse.

The Telegraph report that the 23-yar-old is seen as the ‘perfect player’ to partner Alexander Isak and bolster our attacking options ahead of a season in the Champions League, with staff a huge fan of his technical ability, pace and power.

It won’t be an easy deal to agree, with Brighton ‘expected to want upwards of £60m’, but there are now growing reports suggesting that the South American will leave the Amex this summer.

Not only that, it seems the Seagulls have already lined up a potential replacement, with Sky Sports revealing that Olympiakos star Charalampos Kostoulas is in talks to join in a deal worth £40m.
