Arsenal are advancing in their talks to sign sought after striker who is linked to Manchester United.

Last season, Arsenal failed to win the Premier League once again, finishing 2nd for a third consecutive season.

Arsenal won the FA Cup in Arteta’s first season, but since then the Gunners have not managed to reach a single final during Arteta’s tenure.

It is fair to say that Arsenal have been unlucky this season with injuries to key players. However, a small portion of Arsenal fans are beginning to become slightly impatient with the lack of trophies, despite performances being substantially better than in years prior to Arteta.

It is clear that Arsenal have needed a prolific number 9 for some time now, after seeing Manchester City beat them to the league after their signing of world-class striker, Erling Haaland.

It has been rumoured that Arsenal have been in hot pursuit of a number of strikers including Swedish duo, Victor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak. But they have been unsuccessful thus far.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal have held further discussions over a £60 million move for Slovenian striker, Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko has impressed for German side RB Leipzig this season, and he has scored 39 goals in 87 games across all competitions since his move to Germany, attracting interest from Europe’s biggest clubs.

After RB Leipzig failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League, Leipzig are open to selling the young striker. Arsenal have sounded out his representatives and both player and club are now ready to strike a deal.

Reports came out last week [via the Mirror] that Manchester United looked set to beat Arsenal to the wonderkid’s signature due to United’s director of recruitment, Christopher Vivell, having a close relationship with the Slovenian star.

Vivell helped discover Sesko when he was RB Salzburg’s head of scouting.

Although United are unable to offer Sesko European football next season, it has been claimed that the player’s relationship with their director of recruitment may help them in their pursuits.

With Ruben Amorim still searching for a striker to lead the line for his United side, Benjamin Sesko could soon be an option along side new signing, Matheus Cunha.
