The star in question here is Aymeric Laporte of Al-Nassr. He moved to Saudi in summer 2023 from Man City. But, the player has struggled to adapt with Saudi’s conditions. Hence, he is likely to return to Europe this summer.

According to El Chiringuito via Football Espana, both United and Chelsea are keen to sign Laporte. Al-Nassr are ready to sell him but they want to recoup the money they spent on Laporte. The Spanish defender costed the Saudi side €27 million in summer 2023.

Laporte will be a very good addition to any of United or Chelsea. He has a vast experience of playing at the top level. He will inject leadership qualities in the squad which the both English clubs need. It will be interesting to see if any of the clubs move ahead in the pursuit.

Earlier, Laporte was an important member of the City squad. He has played 180 games in the Sky Blue jersey. He has won all possible trophies at club level with City. Hence, he will also inject the winning experience in the squad.
