David Moyes is set to lead a busy summer at Everton.

The Friedkin Group are set to back the Scotsman to improve his squad as the Blues prepare for the new season in their new stadium.

The Toffees will move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer but there is a lot of work to be done in the transfer market before they play their first game there.

Everton transfer priorities revealed

The Blues have lost several experienced players, with the likes of Asmir Begovic, Ashley Young and Abdoulaye Doucoure leaving at the end of their contracts.

TV commentator Ian Darke believes that it will be crucial to replace the experience that they are losing in the transfer market.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: “Definitely, I think Everton moving into the new stadium, the ambition has got to be to move into at least the top half of the table, if not be challenging for a European place.

“You would expect there to be significant business done this summer by Everton to bolster the squad.

“They can’t have too young a squad, and I think David Moyes, being the kind of manager that he is, he will want a core of experience through that team.

“I mean he has already got a bit of that, hasn’t he, through the spine of the team with Pickford, Tarkowksi, they like Gueye and Garner as the two central midfield players, they will want a striker.

“I think they added well when they got Ndiaye, he has given them a bit of flair that they did not have, I think they will probably want to add a touch more flair to the squad.

“Maybe, an experienced midfield player, just to have some competition in there and to replace what Doucoure did.”

Everton’s confirmed players leaving this summer.

Flashy new signings will only serve to boost expectations but there will need some additions which add valuable know-how to the squad to replace the influence that they are losing.

More exits could follow before signings are made, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future still up in the air as his contract is expiring and no decision has been made yet and Michael Keane’s deal also running out.
