Newcastle United are again being linked with a move for Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga.
Last summer, Newcastle United attempted to sign Elanga as the transfer window was drawing to a close.
Forest rejected those advances and he stayed at the City Ground, going on to help them qualify for the Conference League.
However, Newcastle have made a new attempt to sign Elanga, who could cost over £50million this summer.
That would make him one of the club’s most expensive players in history, so acting on that initial enquiry would be a huge decision. However, the player’s demands could help in any transfer talks if they take place.

Anthony Elanga’s wage demands to join Newcastle United
According to The Chronicle, Elanga wouldn’t demand huge wages to join Newcastle. While the transfer fee could be expensive, the salary requested may make a move easier to complete.
That is significant. Newcastle were put off by Bryan Mbeumo’s wage demands, which rose as high as £250k-per-week.
Bruno Guimaraes is Newcastle’s highest-paid player on £160k-per-week. The club are also set for contract talks with Alexander Isak over a new deal.

Geordie Boot Boys understands Newcastle could make Isak their biggest earner, so signing anyone who’d come in and instantly demand more than him could prove to be an issue.
With that in mind, a target like Elanga, who seemingly wouldn’t ask for a gargantuan salary, is logical.
Newcastle United set to make £400m announcement to increase their wage bill
GBB also recently spoke to football finance expert Adam Williams.
Williams highlighted the fact that Newcastle’s revenue could grow to £400million by the time the next announcement is made.
That, in turn, could see Newcastle increase their wage bill. Still, the fact they could be in a position to increase it is only part of the issue.
Just because money will be available to do so does not mean the club will go out and start paying huge salaries for freshly signed players.
They have their existing stars to consider first and anything that could feasibly upset them would be something to think about very carefully.
