Birmingham City have agreed a deal to sign Brighton goalkeeper James Beadle, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League club have given the green light to the 20-year-old joining the Championship newcomers on loan next season.
A full agreement is now in place and an official announcement of the move is expected to be made in the next 48 hours.
Birmingham won an immediate promotion from League One back to the Championship last season, setting an EFL points record in the process, winning an incredible 111 points in 46 league games.
Now the Midlands club, who have been heavily backed by American owner Tom Wagner, are due to announce the signing of Beadle as they prepare for life back in the second tier.

Having joined Brighton back in 2022, Beadle is still yet to make his debut for the Premier League club, although he is no stranger to the Championship.

The goalkeeper has spent the last season-and-a-half in the division, playing under Danny Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday.
Beadle is set to be the first signing of the transfer window for the Blues, and this would not be the first time the two sides have done business recently.
Last summer, Birmingham won the race to sign midfielder Marc Leonard from Brighton on a permanent deal.

James Beadle the first deal in a busy summer at St Andrew’s
Beadle’s previous experience and proven ability in the Championship mean he will be a useful addition to Chris Davies’ side as they return to the Championship.
The Blues will therefore be encouraged by this early bit of summer business, although this will not be far from the only deal they get done before the market closes at the end of August.
It has already been reported that the Blues are also keen to re-sign Kieran Dowell and Ben Davies permanently from Rangers, after the pair spent last season on loan at St Andrew’s.
There is likely to be outgoings as well, and as was recently revealed by Football Insider, Birmingham are ready to loan out Leonard this summer amid interest from other Championship clubs.
