Jurgen Klopp sends heartfelt message after Liverpool return - 'What a week!'

Jurgen Klopp has shared some reflections on his whirlwind of a return to Liverpool on Instagram, reminiscing over an unforgettable fortnight where he joined in with the LFC Foundation's gala ball at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral as their honorary ambassador.

The former Liverpool gaffer went back to the AXA Training Centre for the first time in over a year after being invited by Arne Slot, giving him a chance to express his heartfelt congratulations to the team face-to-face.

Adding to the unforgettable experiences, Klopp was there at Anfield when the Reds collected another Premier League title, and savoured the jubilant victory parade through the city streets.

Klopp's Instagram post fondly recalls the emotional ride. "Remembering the rollercoaster of emotions of the past two weeks!" he wrote.

"From the Fair Play Award in Wiesbaden, to going back home to Liverpool to support the LFC foundation and then onto celebrating the championship #20. Watching the parade and also standing together with the whole nation during a terrible moment afterwards, and all the way to being honoured by the LMA in London along with other incredible personalities in Football — what a week!"

Klopp was honored at the Fair Play Award in Wiesbaden, supported the club’s charity foundation, experienced the championship triumph, and received recognition from the LMA in London among football's elite. He also shared his concern, at the time, for those injured in the Water Street incident that followed the title parade.

The post concludes with a heartfelt "Thank you! YNWA," accompanied by a red heart emoji, encapsulating his connection with the club and its fans.

Klopp was in attendance at the 33rd League Managers Association annual awards held at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London.

The evening saw Klopp, a member of the trade union, being inducted into the LMA Hall of Fame 1000 Club alongside David Moyes, Mick McCarthy, Ian Holloway and Jose Mourinho.

"Yesterday it just showed the two faces of life," Klopp said at the LMA awards, referencing the parade and the incident that followed. "The most beautiful face for a long, long time — the parade was incredible, it was incredible.

"From one second to the other everything changed because we then learned again there are more serious things in the world than football. Obviously thoughts and prayers go to the, as far as I know now, the injured and to the families of course as well.

"It should have been one of the greatest days in the history of the city after a long, long time because we didn't have opportunity to do that last time, but as I said it showed the bad face of life as well.

"I at least don't know anything about exactly what happened — how and why it happened — but we all know what happened and that is very, very bad."

Arne Slot was named the Premier League Manager of the Year and also won the LMA Manager of the Year. Klopp won the latter award twice, having previously collected it in 2020 and 2022.
