Derrick Henry, Adam Sandler Make Strange Wager on Ravens Season

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry is a big Adam Sandler fan and could make his way into the theatrical world at this point next year. During a recent appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, Henry said Sandler was his favorite actor, to which Patrick said he would put Henry is a Sandler movie if he rushed for 2,000 yards in the upcoming season. Patrick was serious with this offer, as Adam Sandler himself responded to the post and confirmed the offer.

“Two thousand yards-plus this year not only gets you in a movie, but we’ll have a nice dinner together and talk about Dan Patrick’s facial hair and how hard it is for him to grow it,” Sandler said. “I love ya and keep it up.”

Derrick Henry, Adam Sandler Make Wager on Ravens 2025 Season

Derrick Henry is one of the game’s all-time great talents at the position and is one of nine players to record 2,000 rushing yards in a single season. While he hasn’t accomplished the feat since his dominant 2020 season, he came close in 2024. During his first season with the Ravens, Henry recorded 1,921 yards and a league-leading 16 rushing touchdowns on 325 carries. While these types of numbers would normally lead the league, he finished second in rushing yards to Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Recently signed to an extension, Derrick Henry should remain the unquestioned workhorse in this backfield and has a decent shot of earning a spot in the next Adam Sandler film. While Justice Hill is a fine change of pace back and Keaton Mitchell is reportedly fully healthy, Henry will continue to be the lifeblood of this rushing attack. Even though he’s entering his age-31 season, don’t be surprised if he leads the league in rushing next year.
