"I heard.." - Fabrizio Romano: "Phenomenal" Man Utd star will leave, PL clubs have called about …

Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho will leave the club this summer, with Premier League clubs making contact about a deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils are set for a major squad overhaul this summer, with Ruben Amorim looking to put his stamp on a squad that finished 15th in the Premier League and won't be playing European football next season.

The club have already made their first move of the summer by signing Matheus Cunha, and are looking to bring in Bryan Mbeumo too, but now a key attacker from last season is set to be on the move.

Fabrizio Romano: Garnacho to Leave Old Trafford

Premier League clubs in contact over deal

Garnacho

Garnacho, who has been described as "phenomenal", was left out of the final Premier League squad of the season by Amorim after a public falling out over the Argentine winger being left on the bench for the Europa League final.

David Ornstein previously reported that the 20-year-old was told in front of the rest of the squad to find a new club next season, and now Romano has revealed that there is a big chance he could remain in the Premier League.

"I wanted to confirm something I said already one month ago, Alejandro Garnacho will leave Manchester United.

"The decision is made not only on Ruben Amorim side, but also management side. So it's time to part ways between Man United and Alejandro Garnacho. It's over.

"There were some calls from Bayer Leverkusen. So Bayer Leverkusen are interested in the player with a Erik Ten Hag who appreciates Alejandro Garnacho, but at the moment, financially, looks like a difficult deal to do, a very difficult deal to do for Leverkusen. So that's the point on the German club.

"Some interest from Italy, but especially from the Premier League. Premier League clubs are calling and pushing for Alejandro Garnacho. So let's see what happens in terms of negotiations with Man United. But there is a strong possibility to see Alejandro Garnacho playing in the Premier League with a different shirt than Man United.

"So from what I heard, three Premier League clubs have called for Alejandro Garnacho trying to understand the situation, and the answer on player and club side is the same, ready to part ways this summer."

It's believed that Man Utd will demand around £60m to let their academy graduate depart this summer, as INEOS look to raise funds in order to rebuild the squad.

Chelsea have previously been credited with an interest in Garnacho, but the identity of the other clubs remains a mystery and this is certainly a situation to keep an eye on.
